Poem #270 Star Crossed Lovers

The sun and moon, yearn for each other,
Without ever a chance, in love to unite;
Star crossed lovers, they are destined forever,
To only meet, when an eclipse comes alive.

Barely moments of tight embrace, a few breaths as one,
A rare and beautiful sight, in display for all to see;
The ring, shines a bright halo in the sky,
None else, can dare to match its gleam.

Eyes held captive, at the splendorous view,
Nothing can ever, equal this glowing sight;
While wishing the sun and moon, a life anew,
Ticking seconds, break the lovely bond as if in spite.

Slow and steady, they move apart as if,
They are strangers, journeying the sky;
Moon shines each night, not knowing she is,
But reflecting, the mighty suns glorious light.

They course solo in the sky, for countless days,
Unbeknownst, they each longingly lay awake;
Unaware of the other, traveling their separate ways,
The time right, when the next eclipse takes shape.

The sun and moon, yearn for each other,
Without ever a chance, in love to unite;
Star crossed lovers, they are destined forever,
To only meet, when an eclipse comes alive.
