Poem #121 Happy Retirement Dearest Mentor!

 (Written for a close colleague who has been a mentor and a friend.)

Dearest Judy,

My first impression of you, was based on the tone of your voice,

Soft, kind, yet decisive, you taught me to be heard without making noise;
Over time I noticed, through many a phone call and conversation,
Humility was always your crown, irrespective of your station.

Strategic and keen, to get your projects on a roll,
Rolling up your sleeves, one with the team, to take the toll;
You were always open, and so easy to trust,
No frills or drama, as you always chose to be just.

You easily appreciated, the deserving when due,
Embracing ideas from everyone, no matter how new;
My faith in you grew, with each passing interaction,
I valued your support, to help me gain traction.

Thank you for bringing out the best, in your people,
Thank you for being approachable, leaving no topic unspeakable!
Thank you for being a wonderful leader!
Thank you for being my staunch supporter!

You have been more than a mentor, a good friend and a guide;
You made working with you a joyous, monumental ride!
Setting standards on what I need to emulate, and what I need to be,
