Where there is trust, there is betrayal,
The only defense against betrayal, is distrust.

Where there is love, there is heart break,
The only defense against a heartbreak, is loneliness.

Where there is gain, there is loss,
The only defense against a loss, is renouncement.

Where there is happiness, there is tears,
The only defense against tears, is detachment.

Where there is courage, there is fear,
The only defense against fear, is acceptance.

Where there is life, there is death,
The only defense against death, is in-existence.

For every good that's here, we can list a bad,
Instead embrace all that comes your way, as a dare.

Live to the fullest, and accept each fall,
For living on the defense, is not a life lived at all.
