Poem # 77 I am NOT just an option!

(This was a poem I wrote when I was in 1997 PUC)

Oh! what a dreadful eve it had been,
The one that is wished ne'er to be seen;
I didn't know it was one of worlds new trends,
To play with two lives that have just become friends;
Friends unto death would they have been,
If by the green eyes, they remained unseen;

Oh! whatever fate had in store,
Only made my heart go sore;
With a heavy heart I cried,
And knowing where we were destined, I sighed;
I looked at her, wore a smile on my face,
So painful it was, she squirmed at my gaze.

Deep in her heart, she loved me,
Yet craved another's company;
I knew how much, this made her sad,
Her predicament, made me feel bad;
Though it was with a heavy heart,
My final decision was to part.

So here we are two different halves,
Not long ago, we were one in our hearts;
"Okay then!", I said to Lady Fate,
And embraced my decision without any hate;
Friendship or love, whatever be the caption,
I choose to be alone, if I am just an option.
