Poem #74 Nostalgia

Memory is such a mysterious asset,
Nostalgia creeps in unexpected sets;
Then we go about, doing our daily chores,
Forgetting that subconsciously, our mind keeps a score;
The happy and the sad moments, are vividly recorded,
The ordinary tasks, will remain soon forgotten;
Then suddenly one day, we face a small trigger,
A smell, a sound, a thought that will linger;
We are transported, to a time in the past,
 Wistful, we want to go back and make it last;
Beware of this thought, coz life must go on,
Stay there too long, you will fail to see today’s dawn;
The past and the memories, are nice thoughts to hold to,
But it's the present to whom, you need to remain true;
Here’s a secret many fail to embrace,
And end up falling out of Lady Luck’s grace;
Live by this and life’s steps won’t take a miss,
Stay sincere to today, and you will remain in bliss.
