Poem # 210 Open-Close(d) Doors…

When someone chooses, to close the door on me,
I try to make them see, my side of the story;
After many a failed attempt, I bow out gracefully,
Then it’s up to them, to open the doors to greet me…

Been through many friendships, throughout my life,
The best are those, who can blatantly read your mind;
Common interests, where you don’t tire of the same pinches,
Differences, but an opportunity, where the bond cinches.

When you chose, to close the door on me,
I tried to make you see, my side of the story;
After many a failed attempt, I bowed out respectfully,
Left it up to you, to open the doors to greet me…

You may be hesitant, to reach out to talk,
“What to say?”, may be the conundrum, where you are stuck;
Brave it up and return, even if to say a simple hi,
Right now we are rooted, where you left off at bye!

When you try to open, your doors to me,
I will patiently listen, to your side of the story;
After your sincere attempt, you get a clean slate graciously,
Now it’s up to you, to open the doors to greet me…

Wait not, for time once lost, can never be found,
Unless you try, my yes to you, will never be known;
The possibility of us, is better than the reality of our split,
I am on the other side, waiting for you, to press the reset!

When I choose, to close the doors on a friend,
I will patiently reopen them, no matter what their story;
After many failed attempts, I will cease to respond,
My doors will be shut, remaining closed for eternity…
