My dear mother asked me, to write a poem,
Honoring, thy esteemed self;
I hesitated knowing, there are many a devotional hymn,
From the countless devotees, you have helped.
Your presence, a boon to all on this earth,
Guiding us, to wade through our suffering;
I am thankful, to commemorate my poem 200th,
Dedicating it to you, as our divine offering.
You pair and associate, science to spirituality,
Your teachings powerful, yet easy to imbue;
Spreading joy, love and compassion enthusiastically,
Peaceful world sans violence, is your futuristic view.
You effortlessly connect, our rhythmic breath,
As link to our mind, body and soul alike;
Bringing meditation and selfless service, to our home stretch,
Impactful changes, to inculcate for a stress-free life.
Magically, you have answers to all our questions,
The ones we ask out loud, also the ones in our mind;
I experienced it, when I attended your session,
Key to unspoken queries, in your messages we find!
Your teachings, are down-to-earth,
Practicing your preach, as an example you lead;
Ready to serve all, where there is dearth,
When ever mankind, is in desperate need!
If every person, whose life you transformed,
Were to shine, as a star in space tonight;
The vast sky would be scarce, for the dazzling adorn,
From the billions of souls, that would gleam so bright!
Thank you universe, for our loving Gurudev,
Who leads us to peace, with a smile and words so wise;
When we truly surrender ourselves, and believe,
We can experience, his world as our paradise!
Our One World Family, brings us instant elation,
This Ode to You, is truly my honor of a lifetime;
Thank you for leading a life, of true inspiration,
Gracing us, with your precious thoughts, deeds and time!
