I am the girl, eagerly waiting by her phone,
For that beep of your message, your ring tone;
I quelled my crush on you, a few decades ago,
You came back into my life, why I don’t know!
When I finally decided, to give you my all,
Opened wide the doors, to my heart and soul;
My strong fortress, reduced to a mere crumbling wall,
Now it’s up to you, to hold-on or let me fall!
In battles between, my mind and heart,
Heart always gets, the valued head start;
However when my heart, gets brutally broken,
Minds cautionary words, echo unspoken!
Now I am left all alone, to give my life a restart,
No anchor to hold on to, through life’s rough storms;
Clinging to every ray of hope, for strength to carryon;
Knowing that you will be back as mine, before long…
