Poem # 157 Six for three......

You say we are like chalk and cheese,
You slipped smoothly into my heart with ease;
I think we are cashmere and wool instead,
I now struggle to get you off my head!

You are the only one, I couldn't refuse,
You easily turned my no's to yes's;
I gave you the keys to my heart and mind,
So hard now, the broken pieces to find!

You were my one past crush, two decades ago,
Willfully forgotten, till you decided to show;
You are my coffee addiction, I should have stuck to tea,
A muse to many of my poems, that now flow free!

You say, you don't do emotions,
I beg to contest, this wrong notion;
Your effortless, words touched my heart,
While your thoughtful actions, gave us a jumpstart!

Alas, you were hurt by my callous words, my regret,
I wish I had, held my caustic tongue in check;
You now chose to shun me, instead of forgive,
I pray, that the love in your heart wins.

I hope our stories are but, at a brief interval,
Without you, I cannot imagine life or survival;
I wait eagerly, for you to press the restart,
Giving our monk-dum, it’s deserving second chance.
