Poem # 143 Heartbreak

[How aptly ironic that the famed number “143” is titled “Heartbreak!!”… “Love and Heartbreak” do go hand in hand!!]

Feeling so low and lost,
I need to find my words;
At loss, when I need them most,
What's happened to my world?

You came in, like the blazing sun,
Brightening, my whole life;
Barely two months, of sheer fun,
Sadness now, cuts like a knife.

I knew not, what you were searching for,
When you reached out to me;
Quickly in you, I found my shore,
I stayed put, rather than flee.

The attraction, was strong,
At both ends, at least when it started;
I am clueless, what went wrong,
The reason, you turned cold hearted.

Then suddenly, out of the blue,
You stopped, all our communication;
Don't know, what tipped our canoe,
Why you shunned, all conversation.

One way street, for me is new,
I need to, swim alone this sea;
I wish, you felt the way I do,
Guess, it wasn't supposed to be.

I sit here wondering, why you fled,
Did I, let you down someway?
Teary cheeks, as my heart bled,
Your memories are mine and will stay.
