Meeting your family for the very first time,
All tired and dirty, from my day long travel;
An accident enroute, had me covered in grime,
Complicating the good impression, I was trying to unravel.
Your family opened your doors and hearts to me,
I wonder, why I ever worried it would be a tough sell;
Falling in love with your two daughters was made Oh so easy,
When on peripheral commotions, you chose not to dwell.
I was raised by my mom, without the care of a father,
Dad’s love, a relationship I was unaware of;
Privy to the wonderful relation you shared with your
daughters,
You made me realize, the special father daughter bond.
Close proximity and frequent meetings, helped us connect,
Our bonds strengthened, till your family felt like my own;
Your charming wife, became my sister perfect,
While your staunch support,
took on a brotherly tone.
Now we are comfortable enough to argue and fight,
During many a game, of Settlers of Catan;
Knowing that our bond, is much deeper and tight,
Difference of opinions, feel free to bring it on!
I feel at home when I am at your place,
I wait eagerly for all your phone calls;
Your family gives me much needed solace,
When life throws its imminent curve balls.
Thank you Rajesh, for everything and more,
Your impact on my life, is more than you know;
I conclude my thanks, with wishes galore,
May you reap bountiful rewards, for all the good that you
sow!
