Poem #90 Untitled

Of all the choices, that life serves us a la carte,
We accept the love, that we think we deserve, at the start;
Maybe that’s why some of us are doomed, in stories of our heart,
Lack of self worth nudges us, towards the wrong sweetheart.

Does this mean, if you come from a family that’s broken,
Life's path has already chosen, the erroneous challenging token;
If at the beginning your road, is strewn with sharp thorns,
The rest of the way, all you meet, are fates frowns and scorns.

You look at others, who had an easy, fun filled childhood,
Blossom into their lives, living a happier adulthood;
You wish you could forsake your life, and all that’s yours,
For a day in their shoes, leaving behind all your tears.

Guess grass is always greener, when viewed from the other side,
Who knows what demons are being fought, behind the happy facade;
Learn to try to find happiness, in the game you have been dealt,
Best fight the fiends you know, than face the ones you haven’t met.
