Poem #47 Plastic

It’s such a fake and plastic world,
Showy allures, with the right swirl;
Money and greed, are rulers of the throne,
Love and laughter, bereft and all alone.

It’s such a fake and plastic world,
Your worth is determined, by what you earn;
As long as you have money, you are deemed perfect,
You are showered, with deference and respect.

It’s such a fake and plastic world,
Turmoils and turbulent plots unfurled;
Relationships linger, only as a sham,
 Sincere care and concern, lost in bedlam.

It’s such a fake and plastic world
Kindness and generosity, readily get burned;
Dazzled, we seek beauty, on the outside,
Genuine character, now lost in our blind side.

It’s such a fake and plastic world,
Isn’t there a change, can we bring a U-turn?
Can each of us look deep in our souls and find
Truth and love, to spread peace of mind!
