Poem # 5 To my sister

The first thing I remember,
From the times I was younger,
Are the days when I tried to ape and imitate,
And how I failed miserably to emulate!
Do you remember those sketches of yon?
My bad traces of your sketches, was no fun!
Do you remember those poems you wrote?
The ones I copied without an added quote!
Of the very strong equation,
These failed attempts were the foundation;
They taught me to try,
To never give up even if I cry.

The next thing I remember,
From the days of yonder,
Is that you were always there,
Whenever I needed care;
Great responsibilities on your young shoulder,
Shattered obstacles, that stood your path like a boulder;
No second thoughts to your own needs,
No matter what, you never failed to take the lead.

You still are my mentor,
Of my world I don’t know if you are the apex or center;
A constant cradle of inspiration, in you I found,
Support and love that has no bound;
A source of courage, values, beliefs and strengths,
For truth to find, you’d go great lengths.
Thanks for being there and for the person that you are,
Never change, coz this is what will take you far;
I pray for your happiness, health, prosperity and that you may succeed,
Great ambitions of yours shall all be achieved;

With these words I will let this poem to a rest
No matter what I say when I am angry, Sister Dearest,
You truly are the best!
Love you always and forever 
